雅思口语Part1：Reading
Q1：What sorts of things do you most often read?
A1：I read news and news comments on international as well as international issues every day. I also love novels and poems.
Q2：What books (or, what things) have you read recently?
A2：I've just started reading 'Cosilience'by E.0.Wilson, a famous biologist and writer from the US.The book discusses methods that have been used to unite the sciences and even humanities, which I learned from the preface. I'm surprised by the unique perspective of the author; I have never thought that actually all sciences could be some day explained by one single theory before I read the book. It's a fantastic idea, isn't it?
Q3：What are the differences between what you read (and how you read) today, compared to when you were a child?
A3：Well, there are big differences. The fact is that, even at different stages of my childhood I read different things.But at that time, I read what interested me only, first fairy tales, then adventures, later science and biography, etc.. And I read them all word by word.Nowadays, however, I just can’t always follow my heart when it comes to reading. , I may have to read hundreds of essays and other papers for my own work, which is, I have to say, boring. And I’d never read them all. I only pick information that is useful for me.
Q4：For children, what are the benefits of reading?
A4：One of the benifits is that reading is actually the most direct way to promote literacy in kids. Nothing is better than reading itself when it comes to what we're gonna do to improve our ability of reading. Another good thing of reading is that it allows children to know more as itself is an effective way of learning.
