TASK 1

  题目分析:
  地图题,重点写conference center改变前后的对比。

The maps illustrate the changes in the layout of a conference center from present to future.

As can be seen from the map, every part of the center is more spacious at present, except for the garden. To be more specific, entering the entrance from the east, vehicles and automobiles directly go to the car park which cover the southeast part of the whole center. In addition, a lane winds to the south, connecting a main road. At the northeast corner, there lies a garden, occupying one third of the east area. The rest consists of two meeting rooms at the west, and a hall in the center, with toilets, a reception, a cafe (from left to right) below the center.

In contrast, in the future, the conference center will experience a subtle change in size and layout. The garden and car park remain at the same location with a minor alteration in size. The lane connected to the main road will be covered. Furthermore, two meeting rooms tend to be divided into three equal ones. The hall is going to be divided into three separate rooms: cafe, kitchen and hall. Below the center, toilets and reception keep unchanged, and only the cafe will be rearranged into fitness room.

In conclusion, the function of the conference center is strengthened with the change of the layout.

  TASK2

Research shows that overeating can be just as harmful as smoking. Thus the advertising of certain food products should be banned, as cigarette is banned in many countries. Do you agree or disagree?

题目类型:Argumentation

提纲:

The unprecedented digitization has overwhelmingly swept across the whole globe in this information age, revolutionizing every aspect of economy, and food, as a prerequisite, is no exception. However, an intriguing and appealing discussion regarding whether the commercials of certain food products should be prohibited arises, dividing the general public into two camps with opposite opinions. As far as I am concerned, I am wholeheartedly supportive of forbidding certain food advertising.

First and foremost, TV commercials concerning food is a dominant and direct contributor to overeating and obesity which exerts an adverse impact on the individuals’ well-being. It is widely acknowledged that the inviting and scrumptious delicacy on the screen serves as a determinant and stimulus for a great majority of customers in the process of consumption. The masses are likely to fall a prey to all sorts of food displayed in the commercials to satisfy their appetite and irresistible curiosity. However, the greasy and high fat ingredients make consumers’ weight soar and even worse, relevant diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease tend to ensue. As a consequence, the public are prone to be increasingly afflicted with torture both in physical and psychological states.

Furthermore, a large proportion of food commercials tend to mislead the audiences by exhibiting an unwholesome lifestyle and over-emphasizing its popularity. To be more specific, TV commercials represent a mainstream channel for the comparison of products and guidance of shopping, and compare the information of products. The excessive proliferation of food commercials is likely to Enable the advertised subjects to enjoy widespread craze, thus convincing and spurring the public to purchase the trendy products. Consequently, the public’s daily diet is revolutionized as TV dinners gain its popularity with an increasing number of consumers following suit.Incontrovertibly, an irregular and abnormal diet not only poses a threat to the individuals’ soundness but also to social customs.

Admittedly, exhibiting certain sorts of food products will surely stimulate the consumption, promoting economic growth and providing the public with more options. However, food advertising’s disadvantages far outweigh its advantages since it exerts a far-reaching and detrimental impact on our soundness and social customs.

Judging from what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that the commercials of certain food products are supposed to be prohibited and forbidden since it fails to address some paramount issues.
