Summary题型在雅思的整体难度中，属于中等偏上一点难度，总体上可以分为全文摘要和部分摘要。全文摘要需要对全文的脉络的把握要求很高，词汇要求也高，因此做题需要的时间非常多，所以今天我们从部分摘要看起，从浅入深进行探讨。summary，在第一次接触时候，很多学生都非常困惑，从何入手，那我们就一步一步来走，从细节入手。

剑6-test1-passage3的Summary题目为例：If you visit the Canadian Arctic, you immediately appreciate the problems faced by people for whom this is home. It would clearly be impossible for the people to engage in 33 …………………….as a means of supporting themselves. For thousands of years they have had to rely on catching 34…………………….and 35 …………………as a means of sustenance. The harsh surroundings saw many who tried to settle there pushed to their limits, although some were successful. The 36 ………………people were an example of the latter and for them the environment did not prove unmanageable. For the present inhabitants, life continues to be a struggle. The territory of Nunavut consists of little more than ice, rock and a few 37……………………….

拿到这样的summary题目，首先第一步应该宽泛定位用专有名词Canadian Arctic，大致定位到文中的第三段，所以顺序原则，1，2两段就不用看，然后根据summary的题型特点，拆分段落，以句子为单位。
The Canadian Arctic is a vast, treeless polar desert that’s covered with snow for most of the year. Venture into this terrain and you get some idea of the hardships facing anyone who calls this home. Farming is out of the question and nature offers meager pickings. Humans first settled in the Arctic a mere 4,500 years ago, surviving by exploiting sea mammals and fish. The environment tested them to the limits: sometimes the colonists were successful, sometimes they failed and vanished. But around a thousand years ago, one group emerged that was uniquely well adapted to cope with the Arctic environment. These Thule people moved in from Alaska, bringing kayaks, sleds, dogs, pottery and iron tools. They are the ancestors of today’s Inuit people. Life for the descendants of the Thule people is still harsh. Nunavut is 1.9 million square kilometres of rock and ice, and a handful of islands around the North Pole.

33题：所以第一句It would clearly be impossible for the people to engage in 33 …………………….as a means of supporting themselves.可以定位到文章“Farming is out of the question and nature offers meager pickings.”，从文章和题目中的同义词转换定位“impossible”= “out of the question”，所以找到同义词就是找到答案的所在点，所以33答案是farming（ps：文中给予的任何单词，都不要改变形式，和顺序）。

34和35题： 更进一步用顺序原则，同时用同义原则，看到rely on catching = surviving by exploiting，所以直接填缺的那两个单词，所以34和35答案是sea mammals 和 fish。

36题：然后继续顺序原则，36题通过理解，甚至可以通过最简单的匹配，可以在第三段直接得到这个专有名词Thule people，再则，其中的例子（例从阿拉斯加），这题最最简单。

37题：继续通过顺序原则，用ice和rocke这两个专有名词这来定位，可以看到文章 Nunavut is 1.9 million square kilometres of rock and ice, and a handful of islands around the North Pole. 通过这句话，我们可以得到这样的信息Nunavut是一个在北极附近，拥有1.9百万平方公里，被冰雪覆盖，同时还有一些岛屿，所以可以得到题目中The territory of Nunavut consists of little more than ice, rock and a few 37……………………….（所以37题的a few等同于a handful of,所以直接照抄答案islands）
