雅思阅读判断题因果考点

 今天我们会分析判段题常出的另一个重要考点—因果关系,让考生判断一个句子中的因果关系是否和原文相符。因果关系类判断题也有其独特的做题方法，认真阅读完这篇文章，再经过集中练习，基本可以顺利拿下因果关系类判断题。

例题：

1.  Feeding increasing populations is possible due primarily to improved irrigation systems.

2.  Problems in Nordic countries were excluded because they are outside the European Economic Community.

3.  The success of the actual experiment was due to the high speed of the wind.

因果关系的标志很明确，就是因果关系连接词，常出的因果关系连接词有：

引导原因：because/ because of/ for/ due to/ thanks to/ owing to/ be attributed to/result from

引导结果：so / therefore/ thus/ as a consequence/ consequently

绝大多数情况下，因果关系类判断题做题方法为：

拿结果定位，对原因进行判断。

大家需要注意，雅思阅读中因果关系类判断题多考察原因的准确性，所以原因是我们需要去求证的内容，切记不能当作定位。

方法操作：

题干：1.  Feeding increasing populations is possible due primarily to improved irrigation systems.

出题句：Food production has kept pace with soaring populations mainly because of the expansion of artificial irrigation systems that make possible the growth of 40 % of the world's food.

此题有明确的因果关系标志词，所以属于因果类判断，我们定位应该选择的是本句的结果：Feeding increasing populations is possible，在文章中很快能定位到出题句，精读出题句核对原因的准确性， due primarily to的同义转换为 mainly because of， improved irrigation systems的同义转换为 expansion of artificial irrigation systems，原因吻合，这道题选择TRUE.

题干：2.  Problems in Nordic countries were excluded because they are outside the European Economic Community.

出题句：Those confined to particular geographical areas, such as countries bordering the Mediterranean or the Nordic countries therefore had to be discarded. However, this does not mean that in future they will be ignored.

此题也是典型的因果关系判断题，还是按照我们的方法，定位结果，需要定位 Problems in Nordic countries were excluded，很快找到其同义转换为Nordic countries therefore had to be discarded。而根据therefore我们得知原因在句子前半部分，原因为Those confined to particular geographical areas， 原因不吻合，所以我们选择FALSE。

题干：3.  The success of the actual experiment was due to the high speed of the wind.

出题句：The wind was blowing at a gentle 16 to 20 kilometres an hour, little more than half what they thought would be needed. What they had failed to reckon with was what happened when the kite was opened. 'There was a huge initial force- five times larger than the steady state force,' Gharib says. This jerk meant that kites could lift huge weights, Gharib realised.

该题中，我们还是需要拿“实验的成功”来做定位，核对成功是否是因为风速大。根据结果定位找到出题句，通过精读，我们从gentle得知这场实验的风速是柔和的，所以实验的成功并不是因为大风速，所以此题选择FALSE。
