【GMAT句子改错】would and could常见用法

Would和could常见的有两种用法 【在线咨询】

一、作为“will”和“can”的过去式。

“Would” is the past tense of “will”, and “could” is the past tense of “can”
this only works of the appropriate part of the sentence is in the past.

例如：1.According to his most recent advertisement. Mookie the Bookie can predict with 100% accuracy which teams will win next week’s games.

2.In October 2, 1982, advertisement declared that Mookie the Bookie could predict with 100% accuracy which teams would win next week’s games.

二、用于非事实的假设性的情况，既虚拟语气。

“Would” and “could” are used to describe hypothetical situations that are not true.

例如：
1.If I had one million dollars. I could buy 800000 hamburgers at the gas station.
2.If I had one million dollars. I would donate 800000 hamburgers to country food bank.
3.If you want more informationà HYPOTHETICAL SUBJUNCTIVE
4.If I WERE a millionaire, I would donate ….

*“especially” means “to a greater extent than others”
   This chemical is ESPECIALLY dangerous because it can methylate molecules in your body.

*“specially” means “in a special way”
   The food had to be specially prepared for the guests with unusual allergies.
