Describe a law about environment you would like to see in the future.
You should say:
What this law would be about
How this law will take effects
Why it is important to have this law
And what changes will happen because of this law
Since I became a certified diver in Thailand two years ago, I started to pay close attention to the marine environment. I noticed that many tourists like to buy souvenirs made from shells such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets...I've always wanted to see one law appear: no souvenirs made from seashells ever again.
That is to say: the manufacturers or individual craft persons should be forbidden to design or make souvenirs out of seashells; meanwhile, it is supposed to be illegal if anyone sells these products or buy them in the shops. If anyone violates the law, he should be sentenced for at least two weeks according to the circumstances.
People might think that these souvenirs are nothing at all but deserted outer layers of some mollusks or other marine life (invertebrates). But, from what my diving instructor said, by the way, he is also a marine biologist, I learned that seashells are important components of sands. We need sand for the beach.
On top of that, the majority of seashells and corals which are in the souvenir shops have been collected alive and normally in large amounts. They are killed and cleaned, specifically for the commercial trade. The constant large-scale exploitation can cause a strong negative impact on the ecosystem, which eventually we human-beings will be asked to pay for the price.
The establishment of this law can stop people from over-exploiting our ocean and restrengthen the healthiness of the food chain. Standing at the top of the food chain, we will undoubtedly benefit from this.
效果
I wish more and more people will care about our marine environment and push for the legislation in this field.
