雅思口语Part3:Travel
Q1.Why do people need to travel every day?
A1: Coz they have to do a lot of things. They need to go to work and after work come back home. They need to go shopping in a supermarket or a shopping centre. They need to find a gas station to fuel their cars. They need to go to hospital when they’re ill… I can’t list them all, it’s just impossible cos there are too many of them.
Q2.What problems can people have when they are on their daily journey, for example to work or school? Why is this?
A2: Well, traffic congestion is one of the commonest problems facing all commuters, especially those who drive a car. The thing is that, if you go to work during peak hours, you’re almost bound to be trapped on the road;
So, you may consider taking an underground train to avoid this, I mean, the traffic jam. Well, this could be a good choice as long as you are OK with the floods of people in and outside the tube stations.
Q3.Some people say that daily journeys like these will not be so common in the future. Do you agree or disagree? Why?
A3: To some extent it makes sense. With more online services available, it is likely that, in the future, people get most things done at home. And actually this is already the case with a considerable number of people who have started their online business from the so-called “home office”. There is just no need for this group of people to travel. They use mobile phones and emails to contact others and delivery service to send things to customers.
