1. Your friend is a student at a business school. However, your friend loves music and wants to leave business school in order to study music at another university. What advice would you give your friend about this situation?

Well, if my friend has determined his or her devotion to music, I suggest major transfer to the music school. There are some reasons. Firstly, it is extremely hard to find what we are really interested in and once we did, we shall devote to it whole-heartedly. Most people live in the world for survival, including doing what they hate for money. This is sad, because according to Maslow, this is among the most basic desire of human beings. Therefore, as a human being whose life cannot be repeated for another time, we shall be dedicated to our true heart. Moreover, music can also be well conducted as a livelihood, which may bring more money than ordinary jobs. Admittedly, making money is important and there are fewer people being successful in music than in business. However, successful musicians make more money and more importantly, reputation. And my friend may be one among them.

2. Some people like to face challenges by themselves. Others prefer to have help from another person when they face a difficult situation. Which do you prefer and why?

In my view, I would like to depend on others' help to cope with a challenge for the following reasons. First of all, it must be admitted that people should be independent and try to solve problems on their own. However, as the saying goes "a good guy needs three fellows", it is always beneficial for people to listen to others' advice. For example, I had to make a detailed plan for a field trip last summer and by listening to the voice of all the people attending this trip, the plan was elaborated in a more concise and comprehensive way. In addition, others can always help us get to the core of problems by looking at things from

a different perspective.

Appeasement behaviour talks about a biological phenomenon that animals perform actions to avoid fight and ask for peace to make sure no harm will occur.

The professor talks about an example of wolf. Wolf packs are gregarious, and they share food and hunt together. When a stronger wolf takes food from another wolf, the one that gets angry may want to fight. But instead of fighting, it will lower its head and flat its fur in order to ask for peace. This is an appeasement behaviour and the stronger wolf will thus let it go.

However, there will be a construction near door for almost a whole year and it will be disturbing. There are two solutions for her. Firstly, she can find another room, but other rooms are expensive. Secondly, she can take her laptop to the library, but it’s quite inconvenient and it’s noisy in the library. Between the two choices, I prefer the first, at least, school performance is the most important thing for students.
