2015年1月托福口语独立题难题解析（下）

Task 2: Some teachers prefer students to send questions about course work or assignments by email. Other teachers prefer that students ask these questions in person. Which do you think is better? Explain why.[2015.1.18]

托福口语独立题第二题的思路与第一题不同，是“二选一”而非“多选一”。审题之后我们发现，原题有两个选项：A，通过邮件询问问题；B，通过面谈询问问题。那么我们可以任选一个展开我们的话题。

在真实的教学中我发现，大多数同学都会选择面谈，因为理由非常好构思。第一，如果在老师的讲解中你有什么不懂的地方可以立即提问；第二，一些图像、计算、口语表达之类的题目在面谈中可以更好的解释清楚；第三，面谈通常是在课后进行的，所以有即时性，上课听不懂的内容可以立即下课问，如果留到回家发邮件，可能就会忘记掉了。

既然如此，不妨我们再此走一下不寻常的路线，选择sending questions about course work or assignments by email。我们发现，大部分的大学生都会有邮件询问的经验，而大多数初中生和高中生更加倾向于面谈解决，所以我们可以将这个场景套用在大学学习场景。支持理由如下：

1. In college, some courses and related questions are quite difficult. It is common that the teacher cannot answer students’ questions immediately because some questions just require complex calculations and critical thinking. So if we can use the email, we can leave the professor some time to think about the question so he can answer the problem more thoroughly after that.

2. The emails, especially the reply of the professor, can serve as valuable class notes when the students review the course for final exams. Because the reply of the teachers is always to the point and they try to explain the questions more in detail.

3. Some professor are just too busy, maybe they don’t have enough time to answer students’ questions in the class break because they need to rush to a different class or meeting. So the email may be a better choice.
