Task 1
　　University students often feel home sick when they are away from home. What do you often do to deal with home sickness?

From my perspective, there are several approaches to overcome the homesickness. The first thing I would is to have real time chat with my family members. For example, when I was studying in UAS, I would chat with them online every week to tell them how it was going with my academic study, and I also could know the recent news about my family.
　　In addition, I will distract my homesickness by playing basketball. Since basketball is the only passion of my life, and I cannot live without it, I will forget everything when I play basketball.

Task 2
　　Some people like to collect old things such as newspapers. Others throw things away after they have used them. Which do you prefer and why?

I would prefer to collect old things. There are several reasons. For starters, the collected item would be of use in the future. For instance, I would collect my reference books since I was a primary school student, and I would give them to my little brother when I graduated so that he would save plenty of money for buying those books. On the other hand, the old things could remind me of those precious memories.
　　 When I was a child, I would play basketball with my classmates and also made fun of each other. And I kept those pictures taken during the football matches and games. Whenever I felt bored or nostalgic, I would browse those priceless pictures and then, I would feel much relieved and refreshed.

Task 3
　　【公开信】学校在考试复习期间举办娱乐活动，期间取消校内公交车，有人感到不满给校长写信，原因一是噪音影响 在宿舍复习的人，原因二是取消校内公交车对要乘车的人很不方便。
　　【学生意见】对话中女生认为这两个理由都没有说服力。首先要看书的人可以去图书馆看，不一定非要在宿舍，图书馆 很安静。其次学校很小，去哪里都可以步行，不行横 穿学校只要 30 分钟，况且公交车只取消几个小时而已，no big deal 然后题目是女生的观点理由是什么。  

In this announcement, the university plans to cancel the bus service on campus during the entertainment in the end of the semester. Some students disagree with it, because those students study in dorms will be interfered by the noise, and the elimination of the bus service is inconvenient for those students who need it.
　　However, in the listening material, two students think this letter is unconvincing. The first reason is that students can study in the library which is quieter. Furthermore, crossing the campus only takes half an hour, it is a good access for student to arrive everywhere on foot. And it is not a big deal to cancel the bus service for just several hours.

Task 4
　　【名词解释】Aggressive recruiting 即商家在推广期间给与顾客一些实惠，积累顾客，推广期过后开始收费增加收入。【讲 座例子】lecture 举了一个 gym 的例子在说明 这种策略的有效性。具体是，gym 在推广期让消费者免费获得健身指导，一 个月以后取消免费政策，结果大部分人都继续使用该服务，于是增加 了 gym 的 customer basis，是有效的。

Aggressive recruiting is a strategy that during the promotion, the companies offer some discount to customers to appeal to them, and after the promotion the companies will increase the fee to make profits.
　　In the listening material, the professor takes a gym as an example. Customers are able to have a free instruction of work-out in the gym. After a month, this free policy was canceled. However, majority of the customers still chose to continue the service. It demonstrates that the strategy is effective.

Task 5

The problem the students bumped into is that she broke her pottery assignments before the due day. Two solutions are accessible for her to solve this problem. The first solution is to stick those broken pieces together, but if the professor discovered this, the grade would be lower.
　　The second solution is to make a new one, the thing is she may not finish it in time because she should review other subjects for final exams. I prefer the second solution, for she can stay up late in the evening to finish this assignment.

Task 6
　　【讲座主题】Animals that hatch from eggs 会在蛋壳里的时候就会制造出一些声音来 communicate that they are ready to hatch. 【相关例子】第一个目的：当有很多 eggs 的时候，it is very important that 这些 eggs 在同一个时间被 hatch 出来，而不会出 现 hatch 晚的 baby被妈妈遗弃了。

比如 ducks，一个 duck 要 hatch 了，就会发出 clicking noise，其他的 ducks 也会发出同样 声音，告诉妈妈我们都要出来了，别把我们忘了的意思。第二个目的是让妈妈帮助自己成功地破壳出来。比如 crocodile， 他的 eggs 是埋在 mud 里的，baby crocodile 要破壳出来的时候，就会 scratch the inside of the shell 告诉妈妈，然后鳄鱼妈妈 就会把 mud remove 掉，否则 baby crocodile 出不来.

This lecture is about the animals that hatch from eggs make some sound to communicate the meaning of getting ready to hatch. The first purpose is to avoid being forgotten. The first example is duck. When ducks are ready to hatch out, they all will make noise, and their mother won’t leave them alone.

 The second purpose is to ask the mother to help them to come out from the shell. This example is crocodile. When baby crocodiles prepare to get out of the shell, they will scratch the inside of the shell to ask their mother to remove the mud to help them get out.
