Part one回答策略讲解

一、Question type 1:

"Basic description" questions

Tell me about your hometown.
低分回答：
"I come from Beijing. I am native of this city. Beijing is the capital of china. In Beijing there are many historical buildings. Beijing duck is very famous-- I always eat it with my friends."

原因：该答案的问题在于尽管它“回答”了问题，但考生没能向考官展示自己的语言叙述能力。叙述应包含详尽、准确的信息，而且论点需以某种方式展开论述。答案也没有体现任何本土英语口语的风格。
* 答案简短、直接
* 不包含任何连接词或短语
* 回答不包含任何冗词
* 没有非常用词汇
* 没有习语
* 语法正确但均为基本语法
* 没有复杂句子结构
* 缺乏时态变换

高分范例：
“Well as you can probably guessI come from Beijing and I have lived here all my life, although at the moment I’m studying in another city- Tianjin. I suppose if I had to describe Beijing,the first thing I would sayis that it’s absolutely enormous, maybe even one of the biggest cities in Asia I guess. It‘s so big in fact that even the locals have problems finding their way around. Another significant characteristicis that it offers examples of both classical and contemporary architecture. Actually some of the China’s most renowned landmarks are “slap bang” in the middle of Beijing.“(正好坐落在…..的中心)

二、Question type 2: "liking" questions

问题：do you like animals?

低分回答：
"Yes, I like animals. I like cats and dogs because they are very lovely. "
“我喜欢”或“我不喜欢”之类的回答都不能展示考生能巧妙灵活地表达喜恶的能力.应避免重复

回答这类问题时，首先应找出能代替“liking”的其他措辞。以下的表达可用于所有一般性话题：
I’m fairly/ pretty keen on…
I’m really into…
I’m quite a big fan of…
I simply adore…
I’m quite enthusiastic about…
I generally prefer…(use only when comparing)
I’m quite/ pretty fond of…
I’m totally mad about…
I’m quite partial to…
I’m quite passionate about…

高分范例:

Well to be quite honest,in general I would say that I’m actually quitekeen onanimals, but in particular I would probably have to say that I’m really into domestic pets like dogs. I guess the reason why I’m a fan of dogs is because I adore their loyalty and companionship. In addition to dogs I suppose I’m also pretty passionate about endangered species, especially dolphins and things like that and this is due to the fact I feel some degree of responsibility towards wildlife protection.

三、Question type 3: "disliking" questions

“嫌恶”的问题都可用“喜欢”类问题的回答方式的否定形式来作答，如：
vI’m not so keen on…
I’m not much of a fan of…
vI’m not really that fond of…
表达强烈的“嫌恶”可以用以下表达：
vI totally detest…
vI really can’t stand…
vI absolutely loathe…

Is there anything you don’t like about your hometown?

Of course I think I’d have to say that I’m not so keen on the weather. To be more precise, I really can’t stand the summer months. This is due to the fact that the temperatures can get as high as 40 degrees so it can be quite uncomfortable if you don’t have air conditioning in your house.In addition to this, I’m not really that fond of the public transport system. And I guess this is probably because the buses are too old and the seats are really hard, so long journeys are usually pretty bumpy.

四、Question type 4: "types of" questions

问题：
Tell me about the different types of transport in your city.

低分回答：In my city there are many types of public transport, for example, buses, taxis, motorcycle taxis, trains, planes, ferries and mini-buses.
高分范例：

Of course it goes without saying thatthere is quite a mixed variety of public transport in my city. Though I thinkthe most commonly-used would potentially be buses.And the explanation for this would be that they are so cheap and reliable. In fact the average bus fare in my city is about one Yuan for a single journey. As well as buses, a second variety of public transport would be something like taxis. And one exceptional aspect with taxis is that they are certainly the quickest way to get around town. So if you’re in a hurry then taxis are the best bet (= the best choice). Likewise, as might be expected, there’s things like ferries, motorcycle taxis and trains, although these are not as widely-used as the first two that I mentioned.

五、Question type 5: "Wh-/ how often" questions

问题：
How often do you go to the cinema?
At what time of a day do you usually read?
低分回答：may be once a week.
In the evenings before I sleep.
原因：直接给出侧重于信息的回答，这类回答是不大可能获得高分的。回答这类问题的关键是要以两三种不同的答案作答。
答案的关键是"it depends" 结构，用它引出“情形对比”使考生能运用对比性语言（连接性词语）。

高分范例：
Well to be honest, I think I would have to say thatit really depends. Like for instance,if I have the money, then it's quite possible that I will watch a movie in the cinema, two or three times a month. You know cinema tickets are pretty pricey in China.Whereas in contrast, if I am broke, it’s more likely that I’ll watch movies at home on DVD; you probably know that DVDs are quite cheap here, especially compared to the price of a cinema ticket.
How often do you play sports?
How often do you go shopping?

 

六、Question type 6: "yes/ no" questions

问题：is healthy eating important?
低分回答：yes, healthy eating is important, because…

原因：对于这类提问，回答问题出在直接用“是”或者“不是”来回答，再辅以细节进行解释。这并不错，但其语法结构过于简单，往往缺少重要的连接性短语。如果这样回答，考生就把回答局限在一个比较基本的结构上了。

高分范例：
Well in actual fact,if I think about it, I guess that in many ways it’s fairly important, especially when you consider that a healthy diet can help to prevent a variety of diseases and health problems such as diabetes and obesity. But you also have to understand that eating unhealthy food in moderation is not overly harmful. In fact unhealthy food is often tastier than healthy food so I guess it’s fine to eat a little junk food now and then.

七、Question type 7: "would" questions
问题：
Would you like to move to another city?
低分回答：
No I wouldn’t like to move to another city, because if I lived in another city, I wouldn’t have any friends.

原因：考官问此类问题时，他或她会非常认真地倾听考生回答中的某一方面。这类问题中的语法这个方面非常重要。基本原则就是，问题中若出现“would”,考生至少得在答案中也用一次“would”（或者是might/could）。
对于大多数这类问题，考生应该用条件句时态来回答。条件句时态用以谈论现在或将来时间发生的事，描述一件不可能的（虚拟的）事情。条件句时态的格式为：

If + past simple, would/ could/ might + infinitive verb.
If I had time, I would go for travelling

高分范例：
Actually, this isn’t something that I’ve never considered, but in short I suppose I would possibly consider moving cities, especiallyif I had the chance to move to a coastal city like Xiamen or Sanya.If I lived in a seaside city I would be able to hang out on the beach every day and I would also have the opportunity to get into water sports like scuba diving and possibly surfing.
八、分寸类话题

Do you think that spending too much money holding party is good or bad?
低分答案：
I do not think it is good, because it wastes money. Instead you can use the same amount of money to do some meaningful things.

低分的原因：
回答的结构相对简单，没有体现出学生的critical thinking和analytical thinking

策略一：
I think it really depends.
If you are loadedwhich means you can live large and drive a fancy car, then you can splash out one everything, let alone holding parties. However, if you live on a budget or live little more than bread and butter, you should not do that.

策略二：
As an old saying goes, too much is as bad as too little. So people should do everything in moderation, spending money is no exception.
