【范文】：

Younger school students should be required to study art and music, in addition to math languagescience and history. Granted, students have to spend most parts of time to learn math and language, because those subjects are elementary knowledge for students. However, at same time, I think that young students should be required to study art and music. Because they can refine students’ personality, relieve pressure and enlarge social circle.

First of all, undoubtedly, Studying some elementary art and music during their childhood are able to effectively refine students’ personality in a certain extent. Historically, most schools ignore the significant function of art and music. Students just pay attention to math and science, eventually, which leads that they only understand equations but lack creativity. When they grow up, they are fear to take chances. It enormously limits their careers. Therefore, studying some art and music is necessary, which can teach them think independently and foster their ability of creativity.

Moreover, it is undeniable that attending some art and music course is able to help students to relieve pressure, especially when they feel bored and tired in math and science. Students can not study science subjects all time and they indeed need time to inhale fresh air, to relax, to cultivate other interests. Thus, art and music are the best way to relieve themselves when they are studying in school. For instance, When I studied in primary school, I had to learn several different subjects. Despite I knew that math and science were indispensable subjects, the classes I most wanted to attend were art and music. Because I were under stressed by large amount of math classes and its assignments. In contrast, music and art can help me to relax. For sake of students’ mental and physical health, schools should arrange decent number of art and music classes.

Finally, attending some interesting art and music classes can enlarge young students’ social circle. Since they are willing attend the same kind of classes, they must have the same interest. As we all know, people who have same interest are easy to make friends with each other. It is because that they are interested in the same subject and willing to site together to discuss, which reduce the gap among them. For example, my sister who is attending music classes in school make a friend with her classmate. Due to interest in piano, they always play piano together and become the most close friend quickly. Since social circle is essential resource for every person, attending some art and music is a decent method.

To sum up, now that art and music have so many advantages, schools and parents should value art and music’s significant function and encourage students to attend those kinds of classes.
