2014年1月雅思口语新话题解析

2014年1月出现了一些新话。这里先和各位分享一个part1的新话题：Dictionary. 很多考生完全没有准备，不具备这个话题的相关语料，导致考试的时候无话可说。

Do you use dictionary?

I have the habit of going through dictionary. I have an Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary. I bought in last year.我有查字典的习惯。我有一本牛津高阶词典。去年买的。

I use an online dictionary more than a book. I use www.dictionary all the time when I am unsure of the spelling or meaning. I can't remember the last word I looked up. 我用在线词典，当我不确定单词拼写或意思的时候，一直都用dictionary这个在线词典网站。我也忘了上次我查的词是什么了。

Which kind of dictionaries do you prefer to use?

As I am not always online and have to work under different circumstances, I have my main electronic dictionaries loaded in my laptop. I like the paper version but it is far too slow. 我要在各种条件下工作而且经常不在线，所以在电脑里装了电子词典。我喜欢纸质词典，但它查起词来太慢了。

Getting the right dictionary is important in the learning process. I prefer monolingual dictionary such as the Cambrdge Advanced Learner's Dictionary. It's the best dictionary with frequency information, collocation boxes and some exercises.学习过程中找对词典非常重要，我更喜欢单语(英英)词典比如剑桥高阶。这是一本非常好的词典，有词频，搭配和练习。

Do you think the dictionary is useful?     

Yes. It provides a list of words and often a wide range of examples as in how the different words are used.  A good dictionary provide us with information we need in order to spell and use correct grammar regarding each different word. 词典给我们提供了大量的单词同时配有如何使用这些词的例句。一本好的词典让我们知道不同的单词如何正确拼写及使用语法等。

我们来看看1月份的另一个新话题——Raining。对降雨或雨天，怎么用地道的表达方式来讨论，都有哪些不错的素材？

Do you like rainy days?

I love rain. I like the way it sounds and I like looking at it falling from the sky. 我喜欢雨。我喜欢下雨的声音，而且喜欢看它从天而降。

I love a nice rainy day where the rain comes down steadily or lightly and soaks into the ground. 我喜欢下雨天，喜欢小雨或者连绵的雨下着并浸入土地。

Don't get me started, I soooo dislike them, as they make me feel miserable and grumpy. Give me sunshine any day!别让我开始说，我烦死下雨了，让我觉得难受，爱发脾气。我要阳光的一天！

What do you do on rainy days?   

If it rains a lot, I open the windows and like to hear the sound of rain and try to feel the water drops being inside. I like to have hot coffee also and enjoy it when it rains all day long. Normally I do not switch on my PC much on rainy days, rather I like to watch TV on that time. 如果总下雨，我喜欢打开窗户听雨的声音，试着感受雨滴。如果一整天都下雨，我喜欢边喝咖啡边享受。一般我不打开电脑，更喜欢在下雨天看电视。

I get wet running around in the rain like a little kid! I love it!! Plus, I call up the pizza place and make them deliver it in the pouring rain. 我喜欢在下雨天像个孩子一样在雨里跑把自己淋湿。还要打电话到披萨店让他们在瓢泼大雨里给我送外卖来！

What is the importance of the rainfall?

Rain is so important us. It irrigates our crops, it gives us water our body needs. It washes away dirt and impurities, and it's fun to play in. Without water, no living thing can survive. 雨水对我们太重要了。它灌溉庄稼，给我们身体所需的水。它冲走尘土和不干净的东西，而且在雨里玩也很有趣。没有水，没有生物可以存活。

Rain is very important to farms to make sure that the crops that are being grown receive the right amount of moisture so that the crops harvested are maximized. 雨水对农场很重要，它能确保正在生长的庄稼可以得到足够量的湿度从而最大化收成。
