如何把“新冠疫情”纳入雅思大作文素材库

在以往的雅思大作文题目里，有关“online education”的话题曾经出现过。就连咱们中国国务院的官网也提到了online education在疫情中的极速爆发。

大家看看这道题：Giving lectures in auditoriums to large numbers of students is an old way of teaching. With the technology available today there is no justification for it, and everything should be done online. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give your own opinion.

熟不熟悉?大家都知道education类的话题是我们的万年话题之一，随着在线教育的蓬勃发展，再加上这次新冠疫情的“助推”，想不火都难。

老规矩，先带着大家读题。首先扫清词汇障碍，不认识“auditorium”的童鞋，出门右拐快去买字典。(这里插播一条，实际上英文中“-um”是一种表示地点、场所的后缀，看看咱们熟悉的stadium、museum，恍然大悟原来auditorium指的就是观众席、礼堂的意思，在这里可以理解成教室(真实的课堂)。Justification来自于动词justify，英文释义是“the action of showing something to be right or reasonable”。所以这道题实际在说，教师在教室面向大量学生授课已经是一种老旧的教学模式了。随着如今网络技术的成熟，这种传统教学模式已经没有存在的意义，所有教学都可以在网上完成。你多大程度上同意或不同意这一观点。

由于题目中既提到了technology 又提到了giving lectures，所以大家可以把它看成科技和教育的交叉话题。题目类型还是咱们熟悉的“同意与否类”。

脑洞时刻：

雅思大作文的审题，一定要一眼看穿本质。这道题实际上还是让我们对比“传统教室聚集型上课模式”和“新兴的在线教育模式”，看看两者各自的优劣势，最后得出结论：到底传统教育模式是否仍然存在不可替代的价值，能不能够被完全取代。

相信大家在漫长的学习生涯中，都有过“晨兴理荒秽，带月荷锄归“的经历，每天早早起来去学校，坐在宽敞明亮的大教室里开始一天的学习，晚上披星戴月，拖着疲惫的身体回到家里。

这种传统的上课模式，几乎每个同学都经历过。这种传统模式的好处毋庸赘言，首先从教学效果上来说，面对面授课，教师能通过观察学生的面部表情以及肢体语言，判断学生对授课内容的接受程度，及时答疑解惑。再者从学生的角度，有些不自觉的学生，尤其是幼儿及中小学生，上网课很容易放飞自我，无法集中注意力，不够自律;而集中在教室上课，即使再不自律的学生，也会因为课堂纪律约束、课堂活动、同辈示范效应等缘故，强迫自己去参与、去听课。

好处谈了，该说说缺点了。在这次 “新冠疫情“的大背景下，传统模式的缺点也确实暴露无遗。大家都知道避免聚集是传染病防控的第一要务，所以疫情期间，所有人都被要求呆在家中。这时候传统的聚集式授课就无法开展，全国所有学校都推迟开学，学习进度被严重拖延，此时家长和学生都很担心课程的进度问题，尤其是毕业班的学生，更是拖延不得。而此时，在线教育以其便捷、高效、无地点限制等优势”顺势替补上位“，无疑成了最有效的补充。

随着网课大热，朋友圈、微博等社交媒体上也陆续出现了很多关于网课的搞笑段子，大家吐槽网课质量参差不齐，这时候网课的缺点也陆续暴露出来。首先，网课加重了家长们的负担，家长小孩都在家里乱作一团，孩子的监督工作全部交给了家长，而有些家长也要同时在家里办公，整个家被弄的鸡飞狗跳，苦不堪言。其次，学生的课堂参与度也有显著下降，学生之间无法互动交流，老师看不到学生的具体表情，无法及时响应学生需求，最终影响授课质量。另外，长期坐在电脑屏幕前也会影响视力，损害学生的身体健康。

所以小编的观点还是倾向于“面授为主，在线为辅”。对于未成年人来说， 传统模式有不可取代的优势。特殊情况下，在线授课可以作为补充，但这并不是喧宾夺主。最终疫情过去，大家还是会回到那个往日窗明几净的教室。对于那些有着明确学习目标和自律能力的成年人，在线上课则是更为便捷高效的选择。

Some people feel that in this age of online lectures and computer programs, the traditional way of giving lectures in large classrooms has become old-fashioned (过时的)/ ineffective(无效的). I do not agree with this view. In my opinion, online lectures can be very convenient; however, traditional way of teaching is more effective and makes learning easier.

On the one hand, many people choose to take online lectures because they are very convenient. Many people study while working to upgrade their educational qualifications to get a promotion(升职) at work. These online lectures and online courses will allow working people to watch the lectures during their free time. For instance, these lectures can be watched during the weekend and they also allow people to pause in the middle of the lecture and watch later. Because of this flexibility(灵活性) and convenience online lectures are very popular among many people.

Conversely, many students find the traditional way of teaching in classrooms more effective. Traditional lectures allow students to interact(互动) with lecturers when there is clarification(澄清) required. To put it in another way, traditional lectures establish(建立) a connection(连接) between lecturers and students. For instance, a lecturer can tell at any point of time whether or not his students understand the lesson by simply looking at their faces and body language. Since online lectures are pre-recorded and delivered via the computer, this interaction between the teacher and the student is not possible.

To conclude, it is evident that online lectures give people the freedom to learn at a time convenient to them whereas traditional lectures provide the opportunity to interact with the teacher and clear doubts. In my opinion, online lectures cannot completely replace(替代) the classroom lectures because they fail to create an important human connection between lecturers and students.
