I disagree that students benefit more from large classes than smaller ones because, when there is a large number of students in the classroom, the teacher has to prepare material that will statistically benefit most of the students.  I’ve been in large classes where I didn’t learn anything because the teacher had to move so slowly to accommodate the majority of students in the class.  Also, it’s very ineffective with the learning process when the class is so large.  When you’re in a small class, the teacher can better prepare their lessons to the level and pace that each individual student needs, thus making the class experience more worthwhile.  That’s why I disagree that students benefit more from larger classes than smaller ones.

I agree that children should learn practical skills along with academic subjects for two reasons.  The first reason is that practical skills are such a big part of everyone’s life.  People only work for 8-12 hours a day.  After that, they have to go home and still take care of themselves so, if they don’t have any practical skill, they will never be able to survive on their own.  The second reason is that it can make someone’s life more interesting.  If the only skills someone has is related to their job, life can get pretty boring really quickly.  However, if you’re constantly trying to learn new things to do with your time, you grow as a person and become more impressive in the eyes of your peers.  That’s why I think that children should be required to learn practical skills.

I agree that one of the best ways to learn is by making mistakes because for one thing, if you learn by mistakes, they are teaching you how to behave differently in the future.  For example, math is one of my most difficult subjects in school.  I was never good at it and always had bad grades; however, I kept trying and studied the reasons my answers were wrong and eventually, math became one of my strengths.  Another thing is that not only can mistakes be a great teacher, it can also be a great personality developer.  When I make mistakes, it helps me remember that I’m no better than anyone else and I become more humble.  I think this is very important because no one likes arrogance.  That’s why I think one of the best ways to learn is by making mistakes.

I agree that children should receive money for doing house hold tasks because first of all, it will teach the child a sense of reward for hard work.  When I was a kid, my parents had a list of chores that they would make me do every Saturday and when I was finished, they would pay me five dollars for my efforts.  This taught me the value of hard work.  Second of all, it can teach a child responsibility for doing things that they have to do, even though they don’t want to.  I never want to do household tasks, but I know that if I don’t, then my house will become a mess and that can lead to illness and other problems. So by teaching children at a young age, they can avoid future problems.  That’s why I think that kids should be rewarded for doing household tasks.

I agree that eating healthy foods is much more difficult today than it was 40 or 50 years ago for two reasons.  The first reason is that back then, there wasn’t as much processed food as there is today.  Things were more natural back then.  For example, when my dad was a kid, he would typically have fruit or bread for a snack. However, when I was growing up, I would have candy or potato chips, which are not as healthy.  The second reason is that people’s eating habits have changed over the years and it’s just easier to eat processed food instead.  Our generation is so used to getting processed food because it lasts longer than healthy food.  If I buy a bag of chips, they’ll last for weeks instead of just a few days.  That’s why I agree that eating healthy foods is much more difficult today than 40 or 50 years ago.
