看美剧学英语：《I'm Your Man》其实是一部纪录片

今年Bob Dylan获得诺贝尔文学奖，授奖词这样写“having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.” 诺贝尔文学奖委员会常任秘书Sara Danius称迪伦是“英语文学传统中的伟大诗人”，并将迪伦的作品与古希腊两位诗人Homer和Sappho。

而Bob Lylan却这样评价另一位音乐诗人：For me， Leonard，you are the first, while I am Zero。这个人就是《I’m Your Man》的主角Leonard Cohen。

2005年1月，导演Lian Lusion远赴悉尼歌剧院为一场名为《Came  So Far For Beauty》演唱会进行拍摄，以向Leonard Cohen致敬。影片是首次对Leonard这位音乐界的巨擘进行零距离接触、最赤裸的深入访谈，从Leonard的诗作、小说等作品，甚至他的绘画创作及相片收藏等，透过难能可贵的访问和李欧纳亲身的自述，见识他独特的魅力所在。

看美剧学英语系列中，片名《I’m Your Man》选自Leonard 1988年的同名专辑，但是后来由于其中的法西斯隐喻被打压。

看美剧学英语的《I'm Your Man》影片当中有很多音乐奇才对于Leonard 的评价，爱慕甚至高山仰止的崇拜，Leonard在影片里这样说自己：

“I had the title poet, maybe I was one for a while.  Also the title singer, but it kindly accorded me, even though I can barely carry a tune.

For many years, I was known as  a monk, I shaved my head and worn robe and got up very early. I hated everyone, but I acted generously, and no one found it out. My reputation as “a ladies man” was a joke, it causes me to laugh bitterly through the ten thousand nights I spent alone.”

Leonard于2014年接受过一篇采访，题目叫做“80年来，Leonard一直很屌”。采访里提到了一些他的过往，比如：Leonard Cohen 最开始以小说家兼诗人闻名，后移居希腊九头蛇岛实验安非他命和写作。Leonard在爱琴海边度过了16个月混合着毒品与禁食的拮据生活后，他开始出现幻觉。在十天的禁食之后，他的体重缩减至52公斤，一次中暑使他的身体彻底崩溃，他也因此放弃了艺术上的努力。

在此期间创作的小说Beautiful Losers1966年出版，这本书被冠以两个截然不同的头衔“加拿大史上最令人反感的书”以及“加拿大年度最有趣的书”。

Leonard自青年就对东方玄学大感兴趣。1995年，他六十一岁，剃度出家，到洛杉矶市郊的禅寺去当和尚了，法名Jikan，意为“安静的人”。1999年，Leonard终于结束禅僧生涯，2001年《Ten New Songs》问世。

今年七月，Leonard Cohen曾经的挚爱离世，Leonard为挚爱写下一封信：I think I will follow you very soon. Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine.（“我很快也会跟上你的脚步。要知道我离你是那么近，只要你伸开手，便能够到我。“）

今年10月21日，Leonard发行专辑《You Want it Darker》，专辑发行不到一个月，Leonard于11月离世。《You Want it Darker》成为Leonard最后一张专辑，被称为他的“音乐遗嘱”。
