Sample answer
As a matter of fact, I cook for my family every day. And when there is a party, I will always be the chef. Last Saturday afternoon, three friends of mine came to my house for a visit and I just cooked dinner for them. Actually I bought all the meat and vegetables I needed that morning. I’d got 1 pounds of steak, 1 pound of salmon, 2 lemons for surf and turf, the main dish, 2 broccolis, some carrots for stir-fried vegetable, and chicken breast, cheese powder, and mayonnaise, and ice-berg lettuce for Caesar salad. For staple, I decided to have jacket potato, so I bought some potatoes as well.
At about 5pm, I started to process the meat. I seasoned the steak with some red wine, basil, black pepper, and garlic, and the salmon some white wine, and mixed spices. And I began cooking at about 6 pm. While the steaks were being grilled, I processed potatoes and baked them. And then I made the salad, which took me only 5 minutes. And when the salmon was being grilled, I stir-fried the vegetables. The dishes were done in only 35 minutes. And it took me another 5 minutes to put the food into some really delicate bone china tableware—I believe that beautiful tableware is a must for a perfect dinner.
