但从经济角度考虑，the Olympic Games 确实有可能带来亏损(carry the risk of financial burden and economic loss for the host city and host nation),场馆建设(construction of venues)基础设施的改善(infrastructure improvement)和安全措施(security measures)都需要巨大的财力来支持。1976年蒙特利尔奥运会花了近30年才还清债务

所以正确的态度是：在充分考虑申办(bidding)好处的同时，举办奥运会也应该量力而行(set up a sensible budget and avoid over-budget plans.)
